This is a very modest set. It’s stuffed with technology but unfortunately not as much attention has been given to the outside but if you’re after substance over style, then keep reading.

It has an HD-friendly native resolution of 1,366×768 pixels and is compatible 1080i and 720p formats. Naturally, you get the Bravia Engine, which delivers the kind of sharpness and vibrancy you’d expect from Sony. But, unfortunately it has just one HDMI! You need to buy a switching box.

It comes with Freeview, which gives you more choice immediately there’s an in-built digital tuner.

The only 40V2000 mounts to think about are flat 40V2000 mounts. This is a Sony, it is 40 inches, you are allowed. Out of the many 40V2000 mounts we have here, we think this is a great bargain at the moment, so it won’t last long!
