TV Brackets – Your choices explained
You know that you need to fix your flat screen TV to the wall for the best view, and you know you need the right bracket to do so – but with so many types of TV wall brackets to choose from, you may feel a little overwhelmed. Each different type of TV bracket suits a different purpose, so here’s a guide to help you choose.
If you want your TV to lie flush against the wall for a sleek, simple and space-saving look, you’ll want to look at our selection of flat TV brackets. These give you a stable and solid support for your TV where you need it.
For a little more flexibility in your TV viewing angle, you can choose tilting wall mounts, which hold your TV screen a little further out from the wall but allow you to tilt the TV up and down – usually by up to 15° either way. This is ideal if you want to be able to comfortably watch your TV from the sofa or from a standing position, for example if you’re playing active console games. The next stage up would be a wall bracket that both tilts and turns, meaning that you can turn your screen left and right as well as up and down, to get the right angle wherever in the room you may want to be.
For even more flexibility, pull-out TV brackets generally feature cantilever action which gives you a much wider range of motion – in and out from the wall, left and right (sometimes up to a full 360°) and the up and down tilt. These are often ideal if you want to put your TV in a corner or alcove, or if you want to conceal it. You can also get under cabinet brackets for concealed screens – ideal for mounting your television inside a cabinet or under a counter.
If you don’t have a suitable wall to mount your television on, or if you want to place it centrally in your room, then you can choose from our range of ceiling TV brackets, which attach to the ceiling and allow both rotation and tilt.
Within each different type of bracket, you’ll find sub-categories based on the size of the screen – it’s very important that you choose the right size, as otherwise it will not fit properly and simply won’t hold your screen securely.
